Chazz Palminteri - A Bronx Tale Live

Bronx-born and raised Chazz Palminteri wrote A Bronx Tale in 1988. The powerful one-man stage play depicted his bruising childhood which included witnessing a gangland killing when he was nine years old. Palminteri played 18 characters and brought them all to life in his autobiographical play. His friends, enemies and family came alive on stage. Hollywood Studios went crazy after seeing it and offered him millions of dollars to turn it into a major movie. There was one catch… They wanted to put a star in the role of Sonny and someone else to write the screenplay. With $200 dollars in the bank…Palminteri said No… he would hold out and wait. He wanted to play Sonny and write the screenplay. Then one night Palminteri walked into his dressing room and sitting there was Robert De Niro who just saw the show.  Robert DeNiro gave Palminteri the chance he was waiting for… And as they say in Hollywood the rest is history.

Palminteri wrote the screenplay for the film A Bronx Tale and then most recently wrote the book for the Broadway Musical. It was the first time in history that the same actor wrote the one-man play, the movie, and the Broadway Musical and starred in each one.

In the past 35 years, Chazz has appeared in over 60 films.  To name a few - The Usual Suspects, Analyze This, Mulholland Falls, Jade, Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Legend, and Bullets over Broadway,  which he was nominated for an Academy Award.  He has starred in over 20 television series and has won 3 Emmy’s. Chazz is most recently seen in Modern Family, Godfather of Harlem, Law & Order and Gravesend.

Gerald has been delighting Nashua audiences since 2009 with his unique one-man show where he brings Charles Dickens' beloved holiday story to life right before your eyes!.

During his performance, Gerald leaps, sobs, and laughs, captivating you as he depicts 26 characters from Dickens’ timeless tale. His adaptation includes distinct mannerisms and voices for each character. There’s no better way to experience the magic of ‘A Christmas Carol’ as only a Dickens can share during this special Thanksgiving weekend performance.

This year’s performance is sponsored by Fortin Gage Floral Design House & Boutique and presented by Byers’ Choice, Ltd. A portion of the November 29th ticket proceeds will support Nashua’s Great American Downtown. This local nonprofit organization promotes the vibrancy of Downtown Nashua with events including Plaid Friday (a Downtown Nashua alternative to Black Friday) and the wildly popular annual Winter Holiday Stroll.

New in 2024! Prior to Gerald taking the stage at 7pm, the Power Chord Choir of Laconia will set the mood for the evening with traditional English and Welsh Christmas Carols. The Choir is part of the Powerhouse Theater Collaborative’s production ‘A Christmas Carol: A Musical Ghost Story’ taking place at the Colonial Theater in Laconia in December.

Given the complexity of Gerald’s one-man performance, the show is not recommended for children under 8 years-old.

Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes

Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes emerged from the New Jersey shore scene in 1974, and though they carried over a significant influence (and some key personnel) from Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, the Jukes evolved as more of a white R&B horn band in the Memphis Stax Records tradition. Organized by singer John Lyon, guitarist/songwriter Steve Van Zandt (who decamped for the E Street Band in 1975, but continued to produce, manage, and write songs for the Jukes) and Richie Rosenberg, the band is well known for their high-energy live shows and no-holds-barred songs, including “I Don’t Wanna Go Home,” “Havin’ a Party,”
“The Fever,” “Talk to Me,” “Trapped Again,” and “This Time It’s For Real.”
